    Additional notes about v.0.20.1

    Hi, folks,

Finally, got this new round of manufacturing enhancement going.  Just a
few points about v.0.20.1 that I missed in the original release message.

I must apologize for forgetting to acknowledge the contribution from Jerre
Cope on the new Unit-of-Measure multiplier design.

The new test data covering 'Test Part 123' mimics the situation in which
the part is purchased in boxes of 36 pieces, repackaged and sold in boxes
of 24 pieces.  At retail level, the part is sold in triplets.  The UOM
factor is forced to be an integer by input validation.  Relaxing this
restriction could easily create decimal stock, which is every storeman's
    nightmare.

Because of the substantial change to the main system processing logic,
please treat v.0.20.1 as a release candidate.  Feedbacks and comments on
the various system enhancements are more than welcome.  At the same time,
the current codebase does not include auto upgrade from v.0.19.1.
Hopefully, before the next release, changes to the data structure would
    stabilise and upgrade script produced.

Be the way, my VDSL modem had broken down.  I am, sort of, borrowing few
hours of connection each day to do online work.  So, I am afraid, response
to discussion group queries would be slower than usual.

    Cheers,
    CK

    Hi, folks,

Finally, I am back online.  It turns out that my ISP's routing server
needs to be restarted.  I am progressively updating the demo
installation at ck-erp.net.  Atm, the XOOPS, eGW, Zencart, CRELoaded and
osCommerce demos had been updated to run CK-ERP 0.20.1  .

    Cheers,
    CK

    Hi CK,

I just want to verify something about Zencart.  In reading the
Installation manual.html it mentions Zencart 1.27.  Does that mean that
CK-ERP does not currently work with Zencart 1.35?  If not at this time
do you anticipate that it will work with v1.35 in a later revision?

    Thank You,

    Betty

    Hi, Betty,

Thank you for your interest in CK-ERP.  Well, you got me.  I am getting
slack these days.  The Installation Manual.html is a bit outdated.
Actually, CK-ERP 0.20.1 had been tested against Zencart 1.3.5 and the
combination works fine .  The demo at
    http://ck-erp.net/zencart/admin/login.php is running Zencart 1.3.5 .

    Cheers,
    CK

    Hi CK,

I've tried several times to log-in, as have sevral from the Zencart
forum, and it just keeps taking me back to the sign-in screen.

Also is the 0.20.1 install into zencart the same as in v0.19 ?

    thank you again,

    betty

    -----------------------------------------------Reply-----------------------------------------------

    Hi, Betty,

The sign-in screen is actually an anti-phishing mechanism, just to
inform visitors that they have reached CK-ERP.net, instead of eBay,
Paypal or any other online banking sites, etc.  To get pass the screen,
just input 'demo' as username and 'guest' as password (without the
quotes).  The whole thing was prompted by a phishing script implant
occurring some months ago.  And yes, 0.20.1 is installed the same way as
0.19.1.  By the way, could you pass on this message to the Zencart forum
that has similar queries.  Many thanks.

Oh.   Just a reminder though.  Please do not upgrade to 0.20.1 as yet
and there is no auto-upgrade from 0.19.1 to 0.20.1.  This may come in
    the next release.

    Cheers,
    CK

    Hi CK,

Thank you very much for the info.

I posted your log-in info in the Zencart forum.

My install won't be an upgrade, it will be a fresh install of 0.20.1

    thank you again!

    betty

    Hi, Betty,

    Thank you for the re-post.

During the transition from 0.19.1 to 0.20.1, there were major system
logic enhancements, so the stability of 0.20.1 should really be viewed
with a grain of salt.  Although I have not yet received any major bug
report on 0.20.1, please be extra, extra careful if you are using 0.20.1
    in a live environment.

    Cheers,
    CK
