CK-ERP.com
Hi, folks, I have set up another demo site, ck-erp.com, at a UK server. This site will mainly be a mirror of ck-erp.net and ck-erp.org. Hopefully, European users will have better response time accessing this site. The various CK-ERP demo installations will be re-distributed across ck-erp.net, ck-erp.org and ck-erp.com, progressively to balance out the server loads. Cheers, CK

hi it is a good job and really a great news for xoops users but got a question for you: how do people implement some kind of user access control in multi-level accesses to each ck-module or sub module? stuff like HR related or Banking would certainly needed be restricted for access right? how would that work? I noticed that CSS sub module has access right functions that can be configured, only i did not know how to fill in attributes and values...but not all sub modules have such features, right? thnaks lw On Apr 10, 11:00 pm, C K Wu <c@ck-erp.net> wrote:

Hi, lw, Thank you for your interest in CK-ERP. I am afraid CK-ERP does not have a built-in generalistic ACL mechanism. The CSS access right scheme is specially designed for Ledger Report access. More detail module based access control is available within a [eGroupWare + CK-ERP] environment, since CK-ERP is developed as a group of native eGroupWare modules. AFA I can recall, no other [middleware + CK-ERP] combination provides such module based ACL. Cheers, CK

ck: thanks for your reply another question though: i played with the ck-contact, and created some organizations, with all data filled in. looked OK and was encouraged...but next day the data were all gone. while the cache in search was still there indicated the tracks of what i typed, "there were no matching" records found... is there some sort of saving i should have clicked on? thanks again lw On Apr 15, 9:50 am, C K Wu <c@ck-erp.net> wrote:

Hi, lw, I am not sure what you mean by 'the data were all gone'. But a simple way to check is: ck-contact -> organization -> *[Search among existing Contact Organizations*], (blank out all fields) -> Start Search . This should list all the organizations existing within your installation. Cheers, CK

hi ck again thanks for the reply i entered data in contact module and checked back same day by searching, they were all there. however, next day click on search with the same query stored in the cache of the browser, no matching record was found. hope this helps to clarify my question thanks lw C K Wu <c@ck-erp.net> wrote: Hi, lw, I am not sure what you mean by 'the data were all gone'. Hi, lw, Although I am quite confident that the creation/retrieval of organization record is not time-sensitive. I guess the best way is to, 1. Repeat the organization search manually without using the browser cache query. 2. via the same search mechanism, specifically search for some pre-existing organization, and see if those pre-existing organization got listed in the result page. 3. Check if the database had been modified in between the creation and retrieval time, for example, backup, restore, or some independent action not related to CK-ERP. Cheers, CK
