Job Title:  UNIX Engineer

Job Description:

SR.UNIX ENGINEER Key responsibilities include: "X Strong working knowledge
of IBM AIX and HPUX operating systems and hardware. "X Develop and execute
scripts and other UNIX utilities "X Define and configure hardware and
software components as necessary to support UNIX initiatives. "X Provide
7x24 on-call support as part of an on-call rotation. "X Work closely with
other engineers and operations staff to resolve real-time issue "X
Lead/participate in projects of the Systems Engineering team to deliver and
support new technology implementations. "X Contribute to the analysis,
design and build of new/existing servers within the Unixenvironment "X
Recommend and implement policies on system deployment, use and services. "X
Develop and implement effective server security and control structures for
hosted products and environments. "X Implement, enhance and test high
availability and disaster recovery mechanisms. "X Work closely with various
groups to ensure that computing services are met. "X Perform day to day UNIX
System Administration activities "X Keeps abreast of new technologies to
provide additional services "X "X Technical Requirements: "X Six (6) years
high level experience administering HP/UX and AIX Operating System
environment on midrange and high end servers in a multi-platform
environment. "X Six (6) years experience HPUX NPAR/VPAR Six (6) years
experience HPUX Performance and Tunning "X Six (6) years experience with
UNIX programming "X Six (6) years experience with ServiceGuard or VCS
administration "X Six (6) years experience with Software Raid tools -
Veritas Foundation Suite "X Four (4) years experience with Veritas Volume
Replicatior - VVR Four (4) years experience with Linux Operating System "X
Four(4) years experience with writing programs in Perl and C REQUIRED SKILLS
: AIX/HP, VERITAS CLUSTER, SOX, LINUX, Capacity planning.

Skills Sets:  

AIX/HP - 8 yrs VERITAS CLUSTER - 6 years SOX - 4 years LINUX - 5 years
Capacity Planning - 8 years

Required Qualifications

College degree. Mininum of 8 years IT experience. Minimum of 6 years
hands-on experience on HPUX and AIX administration, implementation,
performance tuning and migration. Unix Engineer who can work weekends also
to cover downtime and weekend support work.
