    We have a contract opportunity for a Senior Java Programmer/Analyst

    Short Description:

    Senior Consultant is responsible for evaluating existing systems and/or new
    user needs to analyze, design, recommend, and implement information system
    changes.

    Complete Description:

    Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study or
    advanced degree

    Role Description:

    Contractor will develop a secure web-based application for the County
    Conservation Districts (CCD) to submit financial reports to DEP. This
    web-based reporting system will replace existing Microsoft Access
    applications that contain information for the Chesapeake Bay, the Nutrient
    Management Act, for Agriculture and other related CCD programs. The
    contractor will be responsible for analysis, development, testing, and
    rollout of the new eGovernment system. Contractor may also provide support
    in various business and technical areas for BIT. The resulting work may
    benefit any program area within DEP, depending on the particular assignment.
    The contractors must follow the DEP standards and methodology and work
    closely with DEP team leaders/management. Some of the work may include, but
    not be limited to performing analysis, writing technical documentation
    (Requirements Studies, Program Specifications, user manuals, etc.), develop
    coding, perform application testing, etc. The above examples of the type of
    work to be performed will be done for multiple environments at DEP. The
    Oracle WebForms applications, and the eGovernment applications that utilize
    Java, JSP and JSF (JavaServer Faces) Some of the skills required for the
    aforementioned support include strong analytical and communication,
    knowledge of Java/J2EE, knowledge Microsoft Access, Oracle WebForms, Oracle
    9i AS, and networking concepts. Also, some knowledge of DEP's business
    objectives would be helpful. Contractor will be required to provide project
    status updates to the DEP Team Manager on a periodic basis not to exceed
    every two weeks. This schedule will be conveyed to the assigned contractor.
    All documentation and programs developed under this PO shall not be
    proprietary and shall become the property of the Department of Environmental
    Protection (DEP). This includes, but is not limited to, diagrams, images,
    white papers, developed software programs and components, etc. The
    contractor will not maintain any rights to such items. The contractor will
    insure that all items used are royalty free and may be freely distributed.
    The contractor will be located here at DEP and will have a cubicle
    available. Computers will be provided by DEP.
